Tactical Mural Design along the intersections of Leoku Street created in 2024. The design is centered around the marine life of Pu'uloa, a section of land set in the West side of Oahu. The 'aumakua, ancestoral spirits, guide and protect pedestrians crossing each intersection.
This intersection gained an 80% increase to pedestrian yielding upon its completion. The 6 month project include community design feedback surveys, city permitting, street repaving, and delineator installation.
This project was funded by the Bloomberg Foundation in collaboration with BetterBlock Hawaii and the Department of Transportation.
